My wife has been on an oyster kick recently; thus, I have been tasked with finding new and exciting places to shuck and suck throughout the region. Unsurprisingly, places with names such as "Eat: An Oyster Bar" are obviously going to get some immediate attention, as was the case this past weekend, when we stopped in for a dozen of the meaty molluscs, as well a cocktail or glass of wine, and a couple of appetizers. Having enjoyed the Pickering Passage oysters that we ordered at a different place last week, we went with what we knew, and ordered a dozen of those, along with some fried pickles and okra. The oysters arrived swiftly with lemon, horseradish and vinegar, to join the basket of hot sauces already present at our table. My wife and I found the flavors that worked best for us, and made quick work of our slimy little friends, which were quite enjoyable! As for our sides, both the okra and the pickles were plentiful and breaded nicely, although the sauce that came with the okra wasn't our favorite, and we substituted it out for other things. Fantastic prices, excellent food, and excellent service; in short, all around an exemplary experience! Additionally, the rest of this restaurant's menu specializes in Cajun/Creole cuisine, all of which looks wonderful, and is likely to draw us back in for that reason alone! And when it does, you can bet there will be some oysters to accompany our gumbo or jambalaya! In short, if you're looking for a little southern comfort, whether it be surf, turf, or both...just shut up and Eat!

First off, I'm kicking myself for not ordering oysters at an oyster bar--but we got distracted by too many tempting options on the menu. Food: The goat cheese and crawfish tail croquettes were absolutely incredible--crispy on the outside, packed with flavor inside. The kale-carrot-radish salad on the side was a perfect complement. The seafood gumbo with white rice looked vibrant but fell a little flat on flavor. While I couldn't quite identify all the seafood in it, the shrimp were large and fresh-tasting. Drinks: Solid cocktail selection, including some of my favorites--egg white drinks! There were also plenty of good wine options for those who prefer vino. Service: Decent, considering how busy it was, but I expected a bit more attentiveness from sitting at the bar. Ambiance: Great energy from the patrons, though the waitstaff could have brought a little more enthusiasm.

The oysters we had last night were delightful. There were four different varieties and all were very tasty. I enjoy sipping a cocktail and sitting at the bar where they shuck the oysters in front of you. Staff were friendly to boot.

$1 oysters, can't beat that! I really enjoyed my experience at this New Orleans style restaurant. Turns out one of the people working here grew up in Baton Rouge so you know it's legit. The oysters come in many varieties here so we went for a variety of each. Fried and baked first were splendid with a nice batter. The main oysters were also great and they explained where each was from. 4 from three different locations. Service was very quick and friendly and the tap selection had a lot to offer. Will have to come back to try their bread pudding dessert!

We LOVE this place! The oysters are fresh, the clams are flavorful and everything in between has been great! The staff is knowledgeable about where the oysters come from and what to expect on your flavor pallet. Service is quick and when they are busy, they set proper expectations. The space is rustic but really cool, especially walking off of a city street, it's definitely not what you expect!! We have gone as far as eating here twice in one day!
